The idea of \u200b\u200bthis paper is not to describe all the new features in R2, but simply mention some small changes that justify upgrade Windows Server 2008 installed.

1) Look and Feel: May seem simple, but I really find it very useful to have available improved display Windows 7 on a server operating system. I am not referring to the Aero interface, but the possibility of anchoring the windows on the sides or to shake a window to minimize the rest.

2) Wbadmin: R2 Now we can perform a file backup granularity. For those not using Windows Server 2008 this may not be new, because previous versions and could be done. But Windows Server 2008 takes backup image files, making simple operations of backup and restore, even on other hardware. The problem was that we had to take backup the entire hard drive. Now we can have both benefits R2: take backup image file and file granularity.

3) Server Core: With server core can now use Power Shell. Net (at least one sub-set). This allows us to greatly expand the usefulness of a server core installation and gives us the ability to use our scripts in Power Shell.

4) Hyper-V: You can use virtual machines with up to 64 logical CPUs. While this is important only if we have a hardware capable of providing this amount to our virtual machines, when presented the opportunity is great to access this feature.

5) AD Recycle Bin: Any administrator who needs to recover a deleted user or OU, know this is not a simple operation. AD Recycle Bin completely changes how to retrieve objects that were deleted (and still are in the trash). Clarified that the Forest functional level must be Windows Server 2008 R2 before using this feature.

6) BitLocker to Go: Especially useful if you're using Windows 7, allows us to use BitLocker on mobile devices like pen drives encrypted.
Not

worth recalling that R2 is only available in 64-bit platform (x64), so there is no 32-bit version (x86).
